Home Energy Tune-up
A Home Energy Tune-up is an affordable evaluation of your home's energy use. An energy inspector evaluates all the energy features of your home. This includes, but is not limited to reviewing the following:
- Insulation of the walls, ceiling and floors
- Widow size, type and orientation to the sun
- Solar radiation
- Air leakage into and out of the home
- Major energy systems, including water heater, heating and air conditioning
- Major appliances including refrigerator, washer, dryer and freezer
A Home Energy Tune-up identifies opportunities for improving the energy efficiencies within your home. After a thorough evaluation is performed you
receive a 24 page report that details what the audit found along with the recommendations for the changes/upgrades needed to save energy and the cost of making these improvements, which translates into savings to you. This report may also conclude that you would be best served to have the Whole House Infiltration
System test (blower door).

What is a Blower Door Test?
A blower door test is designed to measure the air tightness of buildings and to help locate air leakage sites. A blower door test
consists of a calibrated fan for measuring airflow rate, and a pressure-sensing device to measure the air pressure created by the fan flow. The combination of pressure and fan flow measurements are used to determined the buildings air tightness. The air tightness of a building is useful knowledge when trying to increase energy conservation or decrease indoor air
pollution, or control building pressures.
Energy Audit
An Energy Audit includes the Home Energy Tune-up features and adds the Whole House Infiltration System (blower door) test. This provides the home owner with the most thorough evaluation of their home. After performing an Energy Audit, the home owner will have the most complete results needed to evaluate thier home's energy envelope.
